There are numerous lovely parks, with playgrounds & BBQ facilities, most adjacent to beaches or river.  A short drive will take you to one of a number of National Parks in the hinterland or along the coastal heath-land, to discover the rich natural & cultural history of our part of Australia. The climate is temperate, with a mild winter with long summer months in which to fully enjoy Ballina’s environment.

The town is ringed by a lush green quilt of canefields, macadamia plantations, fruit orchards & small farms.  Nearby are the towns of Lennox Head, Alstonville, Bangalow & Byron Bay, with the City of Lismore only about 40 minutes drive westward.  Several flights come into Ballina / Byron Airport daily from Sydney and Melbourne.

With the new Tintenbar to Ewingsdale motorway now open, which completes the motorway from Ballina to the Queensland border, travellers from Ballina to Brisbane and beyond can now enjoy considerably reduced travel times.
